Boston College took a step towards matching Boston University in total Beanpot Championships with a 4-3 over the pups at the Garden.

Junior goaltender, and Beanpot tournament MVP, John Muse made 31 saves on 34 shots and had a game-saving snag on Terrier Nick Bonino to lock up the victory. Across the ice, Terriers' goaltender Kieran Millan stopped 28 shots while trying to keep his team in the mix.

BU opened the scoring up when Kevin Shattenkirk sniped a shot behind Muse to give BU the lead. BU would hold the lead throughout the first period and gave their fans some optimism of repeating as Beanpot Champions.

Steven Whitney had other thoughts as he scored 1:01 into the second period to tie the game and swing momentum over to the Boston College Eagles. The Eagles continued their scoring ways as Carl Sneep made the score 2-1 in favor of BC in the second period with a one-timer that whizzed past Millan. The goals came in bunches for BC in the second period as Chris Kreider pulled off a sensational move and put the puck in the net to give BC a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

The third period saw BC increase their lead when Barry Almeida grabbed a BU turnover and snuck the puck glove side past Millan. The defending champions weren't going to go quietly into the night however as David Warsofsky scored short-handidly, narrowing the lead to 4-2 BC.

With the game winding down and BC up 4-2, Terrier Nick Bonino fired a shoot on Muse, who allowed a rebound and it was swallowed up by Colby Cohen, who buried the shot and made a game of it. The Terriers found themselves down 4-3 with time slipping away, but had chances to tie the game up.

In what was a fantastic Beanpot Championship game, Boston College grabbed their 15th Beanpot title while BU will try again next year for number 30.
