I realized today that a lot of my blogs are pretty serious in nature so I've decided to do something on the lighter side.
Hockey teams today have it all wrong with the music they play after a home goal. Example, the Bruins, as we all know play Zombie Nation.
Now sure it's a decent enough pump you up song but it's just lost its luster on me. It could be because my other hockey love, The Windsor Spitfires of the OHL play the same song after a home goal and I'm always hearing it. So I propose to you, the fans of the Boston Bruins that we request, no check that, demand that the Bruins bring back the best damn goal song in NHL history, The Hartford Whalers' Brass Bonanza!
This is simply the best goal song of all time, bar none. I still get chills hearing it even today. It would only be right that New England's only team bring it back to the forefront of the NHL for all to enjoy. Just imagine, Marc Savard has the puck in the corner. A defender comes in to check him but Savvy gets around him to find a wide open Marco Sturm who one times the puck past a sprawling goaltender. The crowd goes nuts as the goal horn sounds twice. After the second blast, what's that we hear? Not Zombie nation but the glorious BRASS BONANZA!!!!
My brothers and sisters, join with me to make this dream a reality. Write your local congressman, picket the garden, petition the Jacobs' and bring this master peice back home to New England.
